Cleric condemns politicians enriching other countries, impoverishing Nigeria

A Cleric in the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Reconciliation Centre, Province 67, Mushin, Lagos, Pastor Ademola Ojo has urged the political class to do everything possible to fix the nation’s economy, arguing that those who loot Nigeria’s resources and keep them outside the country are making Nigeria poorer, while enriching other nations of the world.

In his words: “Our politicians must think of how to make things work, fix everything and make sure that the less privileged person is happy. They should not use their position to enrich themselves alone, but to minister to the needs of the people around them. The money they take outside the country will only help the countries they are taking the monies to. He spoke in Lagos, when the church feted more than 1000 persons in its yearly charity works, tagged, Expression of Love.

He said the gesture was to minister to “our environment as advised by the General Overseer of RCCG. We will not make a lot of sense if we are doing this bit-by-bit but we put our resources together so that we can minister to the people at large. This year, we have over 1000 persons. We are giving out 200 pieces of Ankara clothes; over 20 bags of rice and 13 bags of garri including noodles and other items to children because they too are part of the community that must enjoy the charity works of the church.”
