Deliverance from evil marks – Part 1

“And the LORD said unto him, Go through the midst of the city, through the midst of Jerusalem, and set a mark upon the foreheads of the men that sigh and that cry for all the abominations that be done in the midst thereof. And to the others he said in mine hearing, Go ye after him through the city, and smite: let not your eye spare, neither have ye pity: Slay utterly old [and] young, both maids, and little children, and women: but come not near any man upon whom [is] the mark; and begin at my sanctuary. Then they began at the ancient men which [were] before the house.”

God sent an angel to Jerusalem to place a mark upon the foreheads of the people that were righteous in the city, so as to differentiate them from the unrighteous during the onslaught in the city by the angel, only those who were marked were spared. Also, in Exodus 12:21-23, God told the Israelites through Moses to kill a lamb, each for every family and strike the lintel and the two posts of each house with the blood. Which also typifies the blood of Jesus shed on the cross of Calvary. At midnight the angel of the Lord moved through Egypt and slaughtered every firstborn in the house that were not marked with the blood. Hence, the blood on the lintel helped to differentiate the Israelites from the Egyptians. The mark of the blood on the lintel was meant to preserve the Israelites.

Therefore, a mark is defined as a sign or label placed on someone or a thing for identification. That was why in the early fifties or sixties, in Nigeria, some persons were easily identifed by their tribal marks. So also in the spirit realm, there are certain persons who bear marks upon them, such marks could be evil based.

I prophecy to you today, any evil mark upon your life, with the blood of Jesus is wipe off in Jesus name.There are three persons who can place a mark on a person. The first is God. We can see that in Genesis 4:15, “And the LORD said unto him, Therefore, whosoever slayeth Cain, vengeance shall be taken on him sevenfold. And the LORD set a mark upon Cain, lest any finding him should kill him.” God placed a mark on Cain after he killed his brother Abel. The mark was meant to preserve him after he was cursed by God to become a vagabond.

Secondly, mark can be placed by a man. Like the case of tribal marks discussed earlier on. In Leviticus 19:28 “Ye shall not make any cuttings in your flesh for the dead, nor print any marks upon you: I [am] the LORD.” God instructed us not to make cuttings on our flesh or print any mark upon our body. So God is against us making incisions or putting tattoo on our body.

I heard the story of a lady who tattooed the name of her friend on her butts because of love. Later, the relationship got broken and they parted ways. At the age of 42 years, the lady was still praying to get married. Eventually, the Lord revealed to her through a man of God that she had a tattoo on her butts, which showed that she was branded to her ex-fiancé

Thirdly, the devil can place a mark upon a man. Rev. 13:17-18, tells us about the mark of the beast which is 666. That tells you the devil can place a mark spiritually or physically on a person.Sometime ago, a brother travelled abroad from Nigeria. He toiled for a couple of years without making anything out of life. He then observed that during this period, he always had strange marks on his body, which caused him so much pain whenever he took his bath. During his vacation, he returned to Nigeria where he met with me. Having listened to his story and with some careful investigations, I discovered that his problem was the incisions made on his body some years back when he consulted an herbalist. These incisions, though physical, had some evil spiritual undertone. We conducted some sessions of deliverance after which he was completely free from such evil marks and its effect. This is an example of evil mark.
