Evidence of wrong relationship 2019 – Part 1

In the past few weeks, we have discussed some of the danger signals that show whether you are in a wrong relationship or not. These will also help you to recognise if you are about to enter into a wrong relationship or not. We shall continue from where we stopped this discussion. Relationship rushed into without serious prayers:
It is not enough to think properly before making a decision on who to marry. It is also pertinent to pray earnestly before coming into such a conclusion. Prayer is absolutely critical in decision-making. We need to pray deeply, so that we will not find ourselves inside deep holes. The word of God says, “Men ought always to pray and not to faint” (Lk. 18:1). Prayer sharpens your spiritual antenna to receive from God. Prayer is critically important, if you must avoid a wrong relationship. The servant of Abraham prayed for good speed, when his master gave him the assignment of looking for a spouse for his son.

It is not enough to pray, we need to pray seriously before we dabble into any relationship. Men and women of prayers are usually sensitive to the Holy Spirit, Who guides and orders their step in the right direction. Rushing into any relationship without waiting on the Lord or without serious prayer can be an indication of a wrong relationship. The more we pray and listen to the Holy Spirit, the better our choices become. It is nothing but foolishness to make a choice of a life partner without consulting your Maker, Who knows the best person for you. We need prayers to avoid error and future regrets.

A relationship that is full of fear and apprehension
God’s leading is always void of fear. It is an evidence of wrong relationship, when you are perpetually controlled by the spirit of fear, and apprehension. 1John 4:18 says there is no fear in love, but perfect love casts away fear. There is no way you can have true love for someone and your heart is full of fear at the same time. 2Tim. 1:7 says “For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.” Therefore, fear is not of God but of the devil. When God is truly leading you, it will be absolutely void of fear and apprehension.

A young lady talked about her courtship with a pastor. She complained that her heart was always beating or panting whenever the pastor was coming to her. She was always afraid whenever she thought of getting married to that pastor. This can be a danger signal to show that you are on the wrong path. There is no need to continue to manage your feelings, when you are very sure that the peace of God is no more there. You can seek for counsel or settle it amicably with the man or the lady to break the relationship.
