It is expedient for believers across the world to await the rapture of the saints. While doing this, they should understand that our Lord Jesus Christ died for the salvation of mankind and spread the gospel. According to God’s plan and programme, no man should be allowed to suffer in the hands of the Devil and his agents in hell fire. The concluding parts of the lead scripture clearly say: “Not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.”

There are three aspects of God’s will: the first is His sovereign will (He is completely independent and has the ability to do all things. There is no power that can challenge Him); the second is His moral will, the moral law (the perfect law that accepts everybody that believes in Him and obeys His words); and the third is His desires or will coming from His love. It is this God’s love that made our Lord Jesus Christ to die for the sins of the world, so that, all men can be saved as written in John 3:16 saying: “For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him will not perish, but have everlasting life.”

The nature of God is love; as such He has offered salvation to all men irrespective of race. For as long as one keys into the sacrificial death of our Lord Jesus Christ on the Cross of Calvary, he/she will be saved. As far as one lives holy and accepts and believes that through the Crucifixion of the innocent and sinless Son of God his/her eternal life in heaven is assured. God created the first man and made provisions for his comfort in the Garden of Eden. The essence of creating man is for him to serve God. Even when our first parents, Adam and Eve violated the divine instruction and committed sin, God still opened another window through which man should be saved and lives eternal life. These reasons are enough to prove to all men that God loves mankind and wants all to be saved. 1Timothy 2:3- 4 says: “For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour. 4: Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.”

God is our Saviour and our Lord Jesus Christ is His only Begotten Son, both of them are the same. If you encounter the Son, you have equally seen the Father or the other way round. We should, therefore, put our faith in God and His Son, Jesus Christ, who is the mediator and through whom we meet God, the Father. We must understand that God wants all men to be saved. He demands for our worship, which is the purpose he created us. Our salvation and eternal life in heaven is more important than the blessings of the world. Our service and worship to God must not be based on earthly blessings, but to serve God for whom He is. God loved us even when we were sinners. He had promised eternal life in heaven and the second coming of our Lord Jesus Christ to rapture the saints.

It is rather unfortunate that many people still depend on the things and pleasures of the world for salvation, rather than to serve God and enter into His eternal life hereafter. This is why Prophet Joel lamented in Joel 3:14-16 saying: “Multitudes, multitudes in the valley of decision: for the day of the Lord is near in the valley of decision. 15: The sun and the moon shall be darkened, and the stars shall withdraw their shining. 16: The Lord also shall roar out of Zion, and utter his voice from Jerusalem; and the heavens and the earth shall shake: but the Lord will be the hope of his people, and the strength of the children of Israel.”

Prophet Joel noted that despite the day of the Lord — the day when the sun and moon will withdraw their lights and darkness will rule the day — being near, many people are still in the valley of decision. There is need for quick decision and action now that the grace is still available and opportunity abounds for repentance. God is calling on all men to come to the knowledge of the truth, accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour; so that, they will be saved when the trumpet shall sound. Time waits for no one and it will rather be unfortunate that after the death of Jesus Christ on the Cross, people still go to hell fire. This is contrary to the will of God for man.

Matthew 9:36-38 says: “ But when he saw the multitudes, he was moved with compassion on them, because they fainted, and were scattered abroad, as sheep having no shepherd. 37: Then saith he unto his disciples, the harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few. 38: Pray ye, therefore, the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth labourers into his harvest.” Today a lot of people are confused and do not know this because they have not been properly guided. There is need for believers, missionaries and evangelists to go into the field to preach the gospel. Many people who are wallowing in wealth think all is well with them, not knowing that their souls have been mortgaged with earthly possessions that lead one nowhere.

They have faith in their earthly possessions, forgetting that the giver of the wealth will one day ask them to give account of how they lived their lives on earth. The poor on the other hand are thinking that God has forgotten them, not knowing that they are to put their faith in God. They are to serve Him despite their poverty, because salvation and eternal life in heaven are more important than earthly wealth. Christ died for all and wants all that He died for to be saved. 2 Corinthians 5:14-15 says: “For the love of Christ constraineth us; because we thus judge, that if one died for all, then were all dead. 15: And that he died for all, that they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto him which died for them, and rose again.”

Our Lord Jesus Christ died for all, therefore, believers are to go into the field to preach and bring unbelievers to the knowledge of the truth. Their salvation is more important than all the things of this world. Let no man think he is comfortable and has lived a fulfilled life when he is yet to accept Jesus Christ as his/her Lord and Saviour. Christ is today calling you to repentance, you are to heed to that call to make heaven hereafter.
