Hold on to promise, it will not fail

God is a God of purpose and everything He does is for a purpose. There is nothing like accident or mistake with God.

For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.

Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified. Romans 8:29- 30

God has a purpose for everything even though man might not fully understand. You must consciously align yourself to the will of God and understand that every experience is an opportunity for you to get better: there is a place called there assigned for you by God.

God takes you from where you are to a place where He has destined or prepared for you.

The journey might not be pleasant; there might be bumps, hurdles, mountains, and giants on the way, it doesn’t mean it’s not the right way. When God called Abraham out of His Kindred and His family all He gave him was a promise.

Now the LORD had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father’s house, unto a land that I will shew thee:
And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing: And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed. Genesis 12:1-3

Abraham didn’t look like the promise, neither was it a smooth journey for him, yet he held on to the promise. He faced different challenges yet he held on to the promise; the promise looked unrealistic as if it will never come to pass yet he held on. There were delays, fights, wars, pains, struggles, mistakes, human errors all on the way to his promised land yet he held on.

In life and in our journey, it doesn’t have to look ‘like’ before you know it is God. In fact, most of the time, it doesn’t look and sound like God’s direction or way. It doesn’t look like what our mind has fashioned out. Some has figured it all out in their brain how their journey should look like.

So, when they meet life’s hurdles and bumps they turned back because they cannot figure it out to be God. In their mind, their journey should be a smooth and easy one, ‘no hurdles please’ they seem to say.

As Christians, we must learn how to hold on to God and not be soon shaking out of His word or promise for our lives. Yes, I know the world we are living in does not support waiting or delayed period, everything must happen fast and as planned nothing must stop us – a microwave system, yet “WAIT.” After you have done all you should do, wait for it to come to pass.

Better is the end of a thing than the beginning thereof: and the patient in spirit is better than the proud in spirit.

Ecclesiastes 7:8 What will be the result if Abraham has given up on God’s plan for his life and destiny? And so, after he had patiently endured, he obtained the promise. Hebrews 6:15

No matter what the world is suggesting now, there is a period of waiting for every dream. It is not just according to your plan, God also has His time: It takes time for every dream to mature. In Joseph’s case, he had to go through different garment before he finally wore the royalty garment but he didn’t give up on his dream.

God allows waiting time because it is the processing time, and processing time is required for any dream or vision to mature. You can imagine if there is no pregnancy period where a baby is nurtured and prepared for the environment.

For ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise. Hebrews 10:36

Don’t be deceived by the world and do not be in haste (that doesn’t give room for laziness and idleness). You must work out your salvation with fear and trembling for it is in that process God will show you the next step.

To them who by patient continuance in well doing seek for glory and honour and immortality, eternal life: Romans 2:7

David didn’t ascend the throne immediately oil was poured on his head, he waited.

Dear brethren after you’ve done all you should do, remember wait, for it to manifest. There is a blessing in waiting: waiting time is not wasting time.

Christianity is a journey. We must not allow anything to hinder us, because the end of the journey is always better. You must not take short cut, or else you land in the pit. Follow the way of the Lord and be conscious that God is taking you to a good land.

For the LORD thy God bringeth thee into a good land, a land of brooks of water, of fountains and depths that spring out of valleys and hills; A land of wheat, and barley, and vines, and fig trees, and pomegranates; a land of oil olive, and honey; A land wherein thou shalt eat bread without scarceness, thou shalt not lack any thing in it; a land whose stones are iron, and out of whose hills thou mayest dig brass. Deuteronomy 8:7
Shalom!
