General Overseer of The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Worldwide, Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye has implored political officeholders, especially those who emerged as leaders in the last elections to rule in the fear of God and know also that they are accountable to God.

Adeboye who spoke last Sunday, during the April Thanksgiving Service at the church’s headquarters, Ebute-Metta, Lagos, themed: “Vessels Unto Honour,” held for the Army, Police, Chaplain, Navy, Air-force, Federal Road Safety Corps, Civil Defence and their families, admonished them to fulfil their promises made to Nigerians during the campaigns.

The General Overseer, who spoke through the Pastor-in-charge of Region One, Dele Balogun, who also doubles as the Special Assistant to the General Overseer on Administration, noted that Nigerians had been divided among ethnic lines and tasked the newly elected leaders to bring everybody together as one.

Adeboye said: “Nigerians are suffering. Elected leaders should do everything possible to alleviate their sufferings and the citizens should cooperate with the leaders, as well as shun all vices, and obey rules/regulations so as to make Nigeria better.”

Those in attendance were the Chief of Defence Staff, General Lucky Irabor; Major-General Raymond Uche; Nigeria Air-force Commander, Air-Commodor Olasunkanmi Abu; Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Lagos Sector Commander, Babatunde Farinloye; and Deputy Inspector General of Police (rtd.), Adeleye Oyebade, among others.
