The fall of man can be described as the transition of man from a state of faultless obedience to God to a situation of blamable disobedience to God.

Man was a great creature. He was fearfully and wonderfully made in God’s own image. Man was highly gracious, full of God’s Glory. The devil was envious of man and he decided to destroy man. The devil is deceitful in nature. He doesn’t have the power to destroy anyone who has a cordial relationship with God unless he convinces one to digress from God’s will. Satan comes only to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10). Satan tricked Eve. He said, ‘So God asked you not to eat from this tree?’ The woman said God warned us not to touch it because it would lead to death. “And the serpent said to the woman, You shall not surely die:

For God does know that in the day you eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and you shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.’

And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also to her husband with her; and he did eat (Genesis 3:4-6).

If you are a child of God, the devil does not have the power to harm you. The devil in his subtlety, always ensures he deceives man to go out of God’s ways, so he can strike. Before the devil could tamper with Job’s (A man who obeyed God’s word), he sought approval from God, and He allowed him because He had the assurance that His servant Job would never deny Him, no matter the circumstances, and Job later won. The devil had no power over Adam and Eve until he made them rebel against God.

The devil tempted Jesus while He was fasting and showed Him how beautiful the world was. He said, ‘If you bow to me, I will give it all to you.’ Jesus said it’s only the Lord your God that you must bow for. For the Devil to tempt Jesus with the world’s beauty, it’s certain that the world is a very attractive place. According to the verse above, the forbidden fruits were pleasant in Eve’s eyes. Many humans today have bowed for the devil because of their craving and lust for flashy cars, mansions, private jets, and so on. Some youths today have gone into crime just because they want to achieve the sparkling and trending things of this world. Why does the devil manipulate the minds of humans? He wants to have authority and take control of human lives. He knows there is life after death. He knows he has his portion in hell, and he wants humans as many as possible to join him in hell, where there shall be everlasting sorrow and pain. He knows there is a city for the believers, where they will rejoice and sing the praise of the Almighty God forever (a place no one grows old). The devil’s aim for man is that he misses heaven. A believer must always watch and pray, so he can overcome the devil’s temptation.

We were born in sin and we have come short of God’s glory. Jesus came to earth to die for our sins. We have to be sober and let the blood of the lamb cleanse us. Man has no remedy for his sins, but Jesus has got the remedy by His death on the cross. Remain blessed.
