If you have the same experience that I had when I was growing up as a primary school boy even in the local church, Psalm 23 is one of the Bible portions that we were led into memorising. It was my favorite Bible portion and it remains a favorite up till this day. The Lord is our shepherd. A shepherd’s primary responsibility is the safety and welfare of the flock. The shepherd will graze the animals, herding them to areas of good forage, and keeping a watchful eye out for the poisonous plants. Jesus is the True Shepherd (John 10:14). The hirelings have no interest in the life of their sheep; they have no concern in the life of their sheep. The hirelings are just doing whatever they are doing just to receive pay. They have no particular regard for their sheep, but Jesus is a Good Shepherd.

The Devil is no one’s shepherd and demons cannot be your shepherd. You should not submit yourself to the world system and allow them take over your life. Only God through our Lord Jesus Christ does this great work of Good Shepherd. Therefore, it is not a surprise that Jesus Chris is our Shepherd. There is something we should understand and I speak to you as a sheep of Christ that everyone who has given his life to Jesus Christ is a sheep of Christ. I am God’s own sheep and everyone who has given his life to Jesus Christ is God’s own sheep. Jesus is the Shepherd over my life and I am sheep in His Pasture. I have decided to become sheep for Christ intelligently, voluntarily, personally, willingly and joyfully. I receive all the joy that comes.

A sheep will always be differentiated from the goat. I became sheep unto Jesus by my own personal decision. It is my decision to belong to Jesus Christ. It was not a decision taken in ignorance or a decision sustained, maintained or retained in ignorance. The most brilliant decision anyone can take in this side of Heaven is to give his life to Jesus Christ. It is also the most important decision anyone can take. It is the important decision I have taken and it will continue to be the most important decision and the most important fellowship or relationship or union that I have entered. I have great love for my wife, parents, siblings, brethren in Christ and everyone out there, but the greatest relationship that I have and the greatest relationship you should have is the relationship with Jesus Christ. So, it is a decision taken brilliantly; it is taken voluntarily; I did it willingly. I surrendered myself; I gave my life to Jesus Christ and he has since being my all. Jesus Christ owns me completely. Everyday I pray and go deeper in this relationship with the our Lord Jesus Christ.

I, therefore, call upon you today with the love of God to please enter into a relationship with Jesus Chris. If you have been going to church, but you are not really enjoying this relationship, which is taken voluntarily, personally, willingly, joyfully and in absolute surrender, please change your mind and walk into it today. That is the perfect will of God for you. It is a relationship in which you no longer own yourself, but the Lord owns you. It is not what you want; it is not how you see it; it is not how you reason it out and it is not what they say, whoever they may be, rather it is what the Lord wants, it is the wisdom of God and it is how God wants you to go.
