‘The lord will surely visit you’
Genesis 50:25, “And Joseph took an oath of the children of Israel, saying, God will surely visit you, and ye shall carry up my bones from hence.”
God’s visitation is the manifestation of the presence, and influence of God in any situation, or life of an individual, or a group of people, which results into a remarkable change leading to liberation, advancement, and blessings.
Brethren, I do not know the ugly or unwanted situation you may have encountered in your life lately and you earnestly desire the visitation of the LORD. It may be that you are going through difficulties in your career, or marriage, or academics, even in your finances. It may be also you have found yourself in a strange land like the case of Israelites of old in Egypt and Babylon and there seems to be no redemption in sight. Do not lose hope, because the Lord will surely visit you by the reason of the teaching, and application of this message. The Israelites of Old suffered a lot of afflictions and sorrows in the hands of Pharaoh and Egyptians.
But God’s intervention/visitation in their situation resulted into a series of miraculous changes in their lives leading to their liberation, deliverance, and blessings. Therefore, brethren, whatever is the ugly situation, do not despair, be hopeful, because that same God, Who visited them, is still available to visit you.
Psalm 126:1-3 says, “When the LORD turned again the captivity of Zion, we were like them that dream. Then was our mouth filled with laughter, and our tongue with singing: then said they among the heathen, The LORD hath done great things for them. The LORD hath done great things for us; whereof we are glad.”
The Lord will cause you to sing a new song in your life in the name of Jesus. Once the Lord has decided to do something new in your life, there is no one or being or spirit that can stop it.
Because of envy and jealousy, the Israelites suffered so much in the hands of the Egyptians. In spite of these, however, God’s Hands were still upon them. As much as they were in that state of torture, they did not lose sight of His visitation.
God Himself did not forsake them because He had a covenant with their forefathers. The highlight of the covenant was that they will serve the Lord, and the Lord in turn will provide them with protection/safety from their enemies.
This covenant, entered into by God and the Israelites is still valid, even to this our present generation. Therefore, as many that are presently serving the Lord, and those who will make up their mind to serve Him are automatically partakers of this covenant.
Matt 4:23-24 says, “And Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing all manner of sickness and all manner of disease among the people. And his fame went throughout all Syria: and they brought unto him all sick people that were taken with divers diseases and torments, and those which were possessed with devils, and those which were lunatic, and those that had the palsy; and he healed them.”
All the people that had issues in the days of old, as much as they sought help from the Lord, He was always available to help them.
