When you do not know what to do – Part 2

Confession is the first step towards possession. But I say here, say it to God, for if you say it to a wrong man, he might mock you or take advantage of you. When you run out of options, declare it. This calls for humility, which leads to exaltation. (1 Peter 5:6)

• Fix Your Eyes On The Lord- I love the way Jehoshaphat quickly added that though they do not know what to do, yet they know one thing to do, i.e. their eyes on the Lord. In the midst of your challenges, let your eyes remain on the Lord. We have nowhere else to focus but on the Lord. We must not allow this pandemic or any other challenge whatsoever shift our eyes off the Lord. (Psalm 123:1-2)

• Be Sensitive To His Spirit-14. God will never leave His people alone in their distress. All we need is to be sensitive to His spirit. In verse 14, the Lord through the Holy Spirit exhorted the people not to be afraid, for the battle is not theirs but the Lord’s. I see the Lord taking over your battle from today. Amen. May you not be fighting battles you need not fight. The battle is the Lord’s. (16-17) I see the Lord fighting your battles.

• Praise Him- 18-21. One instrument of spiritual warfare that cannot fail is praise. Every time I read this passage, I wonder how Jehoshaphat had the inspiration to put up a singing army. I am conversant with a fighting army and also aware of a praying army. But what of a singing army? According to the passage, all the Lord said to him was that the battle was His. Of note in verses 16 and 17 is the fact that though they need not fight in the battle, they must still position themselves and go out against the enemy. I believe he must have reasoned that ‘we cannot be idle as we position ourselves.’ Even when we do not know what to do, there is something we know how to do i.e. praising God. So, when you don’t know what to do, give God praise, give Him worship and give Him glory. According to the Bible, while they were praising God, the Lord sent ambushment against their enemies. (22-26) The people of God were in good position enough to take spoils of war. So, the Lord will send ambushments against the demon called COVID19 and all other enemies of your life. Amen.

At such a critical time as this, when men are running out of options, the child of God cannot run out of portion. When you do not know what to do, say it, fix your eyes on the Lord, be sensitive to Him and give Him praise. Things will definitely turn around in your favour. By the mercies of God, I declare that the tenancy of Coronavirus in our world shall expire suddenly in a little while. There shall be a turn around and we shall laugh last. Amen.
