Widows appeal to FG, state governments for assistance
Worried by the plight of widows and the poor state of the economy, Pure Religion International Ministry (PRIM) has appealed to the Federal and State governments for aid and financial assistance.
The PRIM, a non-governmental organisation with the aim of ameliorating the plights of widows and orphans, decried the neglect of widows across the country.
The founder, Pastor (Mrs.) Nwocha Victoria and the Co-coordinator, Pastor (Mrs.) Felicia Nwachukwu also appealed to wealthy Nigerians, private sector, religious leaders and multi-national organisations to provide support to eradicate poverty among windows, orphans and less privileged in the society.
According to the founder and the co-coordinator, there are over 500 widows and orphans in the organisation that needed assistance from the government and private sector.
Decrying a situation where majority of the widows and orphans cannot feed and pay their children’s school fees, the duo explained that their organisation is making effort to train the widows and orphans through vocational education and skills acquisition.
