In Mathew Chapter 4, you will see a very interesting recording in the Scripture. That same recording was also repeated in the gospel according to saint Mark in Chapter 1. The devil took Jesus up to an exceeding high mountain and showed Him all the kingdoms of the world and their glory, and said all these things I will give you if you bow down and worship me. We are told in the Book of Revelation Chapter 11 that all the kingdoms of the world will become the kingdoms of our God and He shall reign forever and ever. As you are here on earth, there is an understanding you should have, which is that God made the worlds (Genesis 1).

The Bible said God made the Heaven and the earth (Genesis 1:1). God made the geographic worlds and we have the Africa, America, Australia, Asia, Latin America and so on. We have the big oceans, we have the mountains, we have the forest and we have everything. The Bible said in Hebrew Chapter 1 that God Has in these last days spoken to us by His Son, Jesus Christ and by whom He made the worlds. The scientists have continued to discover more and more of God’s creation every day and they have never stopped discovering. Whatever the scientists may want to discover, God made all things in His capacity as the Creator and Sustainer of the entire universe. God made the worlds, but then the devil said to Jesus, all the kingdoms of the world are mine and I will give them to you (Mathew 4:9).

The word “World” used severally in the Scriptures is just a figure of speech. So, each time you see this word “world” in the scripture, it could mean one thing and it could mean another thing. For example, the Bible said in John 3:16a, for God so loved the world. Here, it is not talking about the geographic world, but about people in the world. God loves everybody in the world. Let us see what Jesus Himself said about the world. In John 15:18, Jesus said to His disciples, “If the world hates you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you.” Here, Jesus used the word “world” to refer to the people in the world. There is the world system, which dictates how the people of the world do their things in an ungodly way. But if you are a child of God, you do not belong to the world and cannot conform to the world system.

When you give your life to Jesus, you no longer belong to the world system and so, the world will hate you, the world will not want you at all. The world system will only want their own because they belong to them, but as a child of God, you do not belong to them because Christ Has taken you out of the system in the world (John 15:19). In the Book of Galatians 2:20, the apostle Paul made it plain to us under the Holy Spirit what happens when you give your life to Jesus. It is simple. If you have given your life to Christ and you say you are a new creature, it then means that it is no longer you that lives, but Christ who lives in you. There is a new master, there is a new controller, there is a new authority, there is a new owner, there is a new Lord in your life and the name of that Lord is Jesus Christ.
Today’s Nugget: Do not belong to the world system.
Prayer: Lord, help me to reject the world and its system.
