Living in times like this – part 2

Text: 2 Chronicles 7:13-14
Key Verse: 2 Chronicles 7:14, “If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.” (KJV)

If there is any time to reset your priorities in line with God’s priorities, it is now. God is calling His people back to the secret place to seek His face. It’s a season of seclusion and alone with God so that we can commune with Him. Living in times like this could be likened to the time when John was exiled to the Island of Patmos and afterwards, John came out with the Book of Revelation. The times we are living in call for a spiritual overhaul.

It calls for personal and corporate consecration. This period calls for great humility. God is calling His children back to humility, consecration and prayers. It’s time for everyone to turn to repentance from our sinful ways including pastors no matter the title they may have. Whenever there is plague or judgment upon the earth, we have to begin with humility and repentance (2 Chronicles 7:13 -14).

This is a season of seclusion, fasting, retreat, getting back to the Bible and studying your Bible, seeking to know God, prayer and worship, seeking God’s face like never before, reset your life and quality of life you are living and getting rid of all spiritual junks in your life. Healing from Heaven comes when sin is first dealt with. If we can’t deal with our sins, we can’t have healing. God does not hear a sinner. It is only when we repent from our sins and pray, then God will hear from Heaven and heal our land (2 Chronicles 7:14).

It calls for deeper walk with God. All that it will require is for you to clean up your life, repent from your sin, and walk in a higher level of consecration. This period calls for a higher level of walk with God. It’s time to worship God in spirit and in truth (John 4:23).

It calls for satisfying spiritual conditions for the healing of our land. We must humble ourselves; we must pray; we must seek the Lord’s face and turn away from our wicked ways. Then having satisfied these spiritual conditions, God will hear from heaven, forgive our sins and will heal our land (2 Chronicles 7:14). Therefore, you must live clean, live righteously and detoxify yourself of anything that will hinder the flow of God in your life.

It calls for the fear of God. Fear of God is awe for God; respect for God and reverence for God. When you reverence a person, you will not do what will displease him. Sin displeases God and sin is more deadly than corona virus, so stay away from sin.

It calls for not to fear and to live in the assurance of God’s promises to His people (Psalm 91:1-13). Don’t be reckless; don’t disregard warnings and common sense.

Living in times like this call for the church to become solution centres. People are looking up to the church for solution. There are many problems besieging the nations of the world, God wants to pour forth the solution in Zion, nations of the earth are going to come to Zion for solutions because the church will have the answer (Isaiah 2:2). The church must rise globally in prayer and fasting so as to be able to stand against the schemes of the devil (Ephesians 6:11).
