Otaru honours prominent Auchi sons

The Otaru of Auchi, Alhaji Hybred Aliru Momoh recently honoured five prominent Auchi sons, who are titleholders in the Kingdom and were recently given po- litical appointments by President Buhari.

At the reception, the Otaru urged the appointees to be good ambassadors of Auchi people and strive to give their best in their new positions.

He said Auchi people are expecting nothing less than excellent delivery of service from them.

Those honoured included Chief Oseni Salawe Elamah, mni. He holds the title of Gimba of Auchi Kingdom and the Oka- Ivbiore of Benin Kingdom.

He is the pioneer Executive Secretary of Joint Tax Board (JTB) and immediate past Executive Chair- man of Edo State Internal Revenue Service.

A professional chartered accountant, Oseni is a knight of the Order of Saint Mulumba of the Catholic Church.

Dr. Momodu Sanusi Jimah, another recip- ient, is the Aigbebaku of Auchi Sacred Kingdom.

He was appointed by President Buhari as the substantive Rector of Auchi Polytechnic in Edo State with effect from February 23 2018 for a four-year term.

He is the first Auchi indigene to be so appointed since the institution was established in 1963.

Sunny, as he is popularly called, is an alumnus of the Polytechnic, where he obtained Higher National Diploma (HND) in Urban and Regional Planning in 1982.

He obtained a Post-graduate Diploma in Urban and Regional Planning in 1997, as well as a Masters in Business Administration in 2003 before obtaining his Ph. D.
Alhaji Charlton Sufiyanu Mogaji Usman was also honoured by the Otaru.

He is the Samali of Auchi Sacred Kingdom and was appointed the Chairman of the National Eye Centre, Kaduna.

Until recently, he was the Deputy Chairman of APC in Edo State. Mogaji is a maritime and mining mag- nate.

Alhaji Yakubu Musa is the Uloko of Auchi Sacred Kingdom. Fondly called Yakson, he was recently elected the Executive Chair man of Etsako West Local Council.
