Power to fulfil destiny

Last week, we established the fact that the destiny of man is to reign in life and have DOMINION over everything that God has created.

Last week, we established the fact that the destiny of man is to reign in life and have DOMINION over everything that God has created. This is a good saying, but are we all living in this realm of purpose? The answer is No. Little wonder no man is comfortable, when things are going contrary to

God’s will and His desired standard in our lives as stated in the book of Jer. 29:11

“For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.”

The good expectations of all men can only be driven to reality by the will and powers of God. Most times, we find ourselves in a compromising situation because we try achieving our destiny on our own.

No man can fulfil destiny (position of Dominion) on his own without God. As written in the book of Gen 2: 7 “Then the Lord God formed the man of dust from the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living creature”. It is clear that the life of a man is the breath of God that was imputed into him, we are not created to leave alone independently without God, a man separated from God is likened to a fish separated from the water, that fish shall eventually die so in like manner once a Man dicide to do things by his power he will surely die. Zechariah 4:6 says “This is the word of the Lord to Zerubbabel: Not by might, nor by power, but by my Spirit, says the Lord of hosts”. It means you can’t fulfil destiny by any other means of power but only by the power of the spirit of God in you, Jesus emphasised in the book John 15:5 “I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing”. If we depend on Him and follow His instructions, we will be fruitful and achieve more in line with our God-given destiny. On the other hand, if we want to do it without Him, we will achieve nothing. Jesus also made it clear that He Himself can also do nothing without God the Father (Jn 5:19)

“Then answered Jesus and said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the Father do: for what things soever he doeth, these also doeth the Son likewise.”

Someone may ask how do we receive the power of God? It starts when we…

• Believe in the existence of the Creator, God Almighty and accepting Jesus Christ His Son as our Lord and Saviour. Then we will be adopted into the family of God as His divine sons. “John 1:12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name”.

• Learn of Him, to obey Him and do His will by reading and meditating on the word of God (Joshua 1:8, This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success. Allow him to be your shepard (psalm 23:1)

• Give your HEART to God. Our heart is core to who we are. It is the wellspring of life, the engine room of every thought and imaginations. It is the very essence of our existence, the center of our being. God said

“My son, give me your heart” (Proverbs 23:26.). After you become a family, you have to give all your heart (Self will and desires) to God. Only then can you be connected to God, for as a phone can’t connect to its network provider without a good SIM, so also God can’t connect to a bad heart filled with selfish human desires. Be careful of what you allow into your heart, guide it with all diligence for out of it flows the issues of life (Proverbs 4:23)

God wants our hearts in order to Perfect and Empower it; that through it, He may Establish and Enrich us in accordance with His will (Ezekiel 36:26- 30)

Let your heart, therefore, be wholly devoted to the LORD our God, to walk in His status and to keep His commandments (1 Kings 8:61)…
