Sex in marriage – Part 2
Sex with your spouse is the only one that can make you happy. Any other sex with a stranger will leave you dirty, guilty, condemned and feeling miserable and used. It defiles you and makes you an unfaithful partner. When you break the covenant, it affects even your business. Anyone who is unfaithful in the marriage bed will most likely be unfaithful in every area of life.
Christians should not be ashamed or afraid to deal with the subject of sex. The idea that God designed our sex organs for our enjoyment should not be a surprise to anyone. He gave us the gift of sex and His gifts are always perfect. Every good and perfect gift is from above and comes from the father of lights. James 1:17.
The truth about sex must be told and preached in all churches worldwide. Admittedly, the unwillingness of many Christian leaders through the years to talk frankly about it has called into question the beauty of this necessary part of married life, but man’s distortions of God’s plans are always exposed when we resort to the word of God. The reality is that people, especially holiness preachers don’t talk about (sex) at all. Whenever (sex) is mentioned, much holier than thou church members get offended and begin to murmur and make negative comments about it.
Yet those people are the very personalities living in one sexual sin or the other. There is no way any holiness preacher can preach true holiness to God’s satisfaction without teaching the pew about their sexuality, the careless use of sex, and the dangers involved and assume all will be well.
People need to be enlightened about this sin that has dominated the age and become the last bullet that the kingdom of darkness has released against the church that has wounded her sore, captured both the youths and adults in the church, brought teenagers pregnancies and abortions, scattered homes and torn many ministries apart, pushed many pastors out from the ministry and sent many believers and even ministers to their untimely graves.
So many believers are held bound by one sexual sin or the other namely pornography, incest, adultery, masturbation, fornication, lesbianism, sodomy, homosexuality, oral sex, bestiality, sex in the dream.
The following scriptures throw some light on the seriousness of immorality. Proverbs 5:15-21;
Drink water from your own cistern, And running water from your own well. Should your fountains be dispersed abroad, Streams of water in the streets? Let them be only your own, And not for strangers with you. Let your fountain be blessed, And rejoice with the wife of your youth. As a loving deer and a graceful doe, Let her breasts satisfy you at all times; And always be enraptured with her love. And why wilt thou, my son, be ravished with a strange woman, and embrace the bosom of a stranger?
For the commandment is a lamp, And the law a light; Reproofs of instruction are the way of life, To keep you from the evil woman, From the flattering tongue of a seductress. Do not lust after her beauty in your heart, Nor let her allure you with her eyelids. For by means of a harlot a man is reduced to a crust of bread, And an adulteress will prey upon his precious life. Can a man take fire to his bosom, and his clothes not be burned? Can one walk on hot coals, and his feet not be seared? So is he who goes into his neighbour’s wife; Whoever touches her shall not be innocent.
And Proverbs 6:32-33 says that
Whoever commits adultery with a woman lacks understanding; He who does so destroys his own soul, wounds, and dishonour he will get, and his reproach will not be wiped away.’
