The importance of time
One of the greatest disservice ones can do to himself is to waste or misuse time. Time wasted can never be regained. Obviously, time is not money but life. The Lord knows the indispensability of time, hence the warning to man to redeem the time because the days are evil. Each day witnessed in life is a gift from God. Therefore, it behoves every believer to manage time wisely in order to maximise opportunities.
Mismanagement of time seems more pronounced in the Africa continent. Africans do not value time and Christians are guilty of this too. They have allowed the mentality of Africa with regards to time management, to rule their lives. Undoubtedly, Africa ought to be the best continent in the world because of the available human and natural resources they are endowed with. The West is better than African countries in time management. The reason is that they understand the importance of time in the economic growth and development of any country.
It is amazing that Christians do not keep an appointment with God in terms of time management. Many feel very comfortable coming to church late. This is not right in the sight of God. However, time management is not only peculiar to believers but applies to everybody generally. It has become endemic and bad blood that runs the system. This is the reason African countries are backward in development and remain where they are today. The West does not have many resources but they excel more than Africans.
African youths should rise to the occasion and take their destinies into their hands, especially Christians. A good number of Nigerian youths waste their time in online gaming and betting. The scripture acknowledges the importance of time little wonder why Solomon stated that there is time for everything under heaven. Those who play away their time in frivolities when they are supposed to be profitable to themselves will regret it all through their lifetime. A wise believer should be a good time manager. Prayer is very important but there is a need to watch and pray.
There are people who pray without watching. They do not watch but only pray. Watching encompasses observing time to understand when to act. Many have missed great opportunities in life because they couldn’t understand times and seasons. A good time manager is a disciplinarian. Be in control of your time!
Learn to manage your time and watch your progress henceforth.
