God would come at such times to give you the pictures of what He has in stock for you, which will keep you at peace. In the confused state of Joseph, the Lord also revealed Himself to him to strengthen and reassure him that He is with him in his present situation and dilemma.

“And he dreamed, and behold a ladder set up on the earth, and the top of it reached to heaven: and behold the angels of God ascending and descending on it.

And, behold, the Lord stood above it, and said, I am the Lord God of Abraham thy father, and the God of Isaac: the land whereon thou liest, to thee will I give it, and to thy seed; And thy seed shall be as the dust of the earth, and thou shalt spread abroad to the west, and to the east, and to the north, and to the south: and in thee and in thy seed shall all the families of the earth be blessed.

And, behold, I am with thee, and will keep thee in all places whither thou goest, and will bring thee again into this land for I will not leave thee, until I have done that which I have spoken to thee of.

And Jacob awaked out of his sleep, and he said, surely the Lord is in this place; and I knew it not,” Genesis 28:12-16.

God would come at such times to give you the pictures of what He has in stock for you, which will keep you at peace. In the confused state of Joseph, the Lord also revealed Himself to him to strengthen and reassure him that He is with him in his present situation and dilemma.

“But while he thought on these things, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost,” Matthew 1:20.

“Then Joseph being raised from sleep did as the angel of the Lord had bidden him, and took unto him his wife.

“And he knew her not till she had brought forth her firstborn son: and he called his name Jesus,” Matthew 1:24-25.
To Warn And Rebuke

“For whom the Lord loveth he correcteth; even as a father the son in whom he delighteth,” Proverbs 3:12.

One of the best ways to understand that God loves you is when He corrects you. God does these in different ways and dream is inclusive. When you are about missing it or about opening the door for the devil, God would not mind coming to you in dreams to warn you ahead so you would not be a victim. He did this for
Abimelech when He took Sarah, Abraham’s wife. Even though Abraham lied to Abimelech, but God knew the danger ahead if Abimelech should commit the error of taking Sarah.

“But God came to Abimelech in a dream by night, and said to him, Behold, thou art but a dead man, for the woman which thou hast taken; for she is a man’s wife,” Genesis 20:3.

God would not fold His arms and make you fall into error consciously or unconsciously, but instead, He would find a way to show you the danger ahead as His child.

“But while he thought on these things, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost,” Matthew 1:20.

But for God’s intervention to Joseph in a dream, he would have missed the privilege to nurse Jesus and mentor him in his early life.

To Warn And Instruct
God also uses dream to warn His children or to the enemies of His children of the Kingdom as the case of King Pharaoh and his dream. (Genesis 41:7-32). The wife of Pilate was warned in a dream about her husband’s involvement in the death of Jesus.

“When he was set down on the judgment seat, his wife sent unto him, saying, Have thou nothing to do with that just man: for I have suffered many things this day in a dream because of him,” Matthew 27:19.
