You are not of the world – Part 8

The word of God says your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost and that if anybody destroys the temple, God will destroy him/her. Don’t eat what will destroy the temple, even if everybody is eating it.

KEY VERSE: 1 Corinthian 6:19, “Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own?” (NKJV)

The word of God says your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost and that if anybody destroys the temple, God will destroy him/her. Don’t eat what will destroy the temple, even if everybody is eating it. Do not drink what will destroy the temple, even if everybody is drinking it. Do not smoke anything that will turn you to an animal. The Word of God and the Holy Spirit are to control everything about you. So, it is not that you do not know these things; it is not that you do not know places where you can do these things that God hates; it is not that you do not have the money; it is not that you do not have the car that will take you to places where people do them and it is not that you do not even know how to do some of the things people do, but it is simply because you do no longer own yourself. For your body is the house of God.

How will you go to the wrong place? You used the leg that belongs to God to go to the wrong places. How do you use the hands that belonged to God to do wrong? Achan said: “I saw, I coveted, I took and I hide it,” (Josha 7:20-21). God punished Israel because of the sin of Achan, and he, himself, was done away with. Achan used the hands God gave him to steal the beautiful robe from Babylonia, two hundred shekels of silver and a bar of gold weighing fifty shekels. How do you use your hand if it belongs to Jesus to take the wrong thing? There is a beautiful hymn that says: “Take my hands and let them move at the impulse of thy love. Take my feet and let them be, swift and beautiful for thee.”

Someone wrote a tract and said: “Others may, but I can’t.” “I can’t” is not that you lack the ability. “I can’t” is because you have a new master, somebody else is controlling your life and you have surrendered your life to your Master, Jesus Christ. You now do what your Master wants you to do. You cannot do many of the things you were doing before since you have given your life to Jesus Christ.

Today, the Church of Jesus Christ is filled with stubborn children, stubborn wives and foolish husbands. Everyone should go to the word of God to find out what God is saying. If you go to the word of God and allow it to rule your life, you will be completely covered from sin.

Apostle Paul told Roman brethren to present their bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God (Romans 12:1). But if you must present your body as a living sacrifice unto God, it is a voluntary act.

My wife cannot force me to present my body; I cannot force my wife to present her body; I cannot force my children to present their bodies and the church cannot even force me to present myself; it is my choice and it is voluntary. If I am going to make this choice of presenting my body as a living sacrifice, it will be because I am convinced that it is the right thing to do.
