The week-long event, which started on September 11th and ends tomorrow, has proven to be a remarkable gathering filled with spirit-lifting music, transformative insights and an atmosphere of marvel.
Visionary, Just Us Girls Conference and founder, Just Us Girls Global Network, Pastor Mildred Kingsley-Okonkwo, shared her thoughts on the challenges faced while organising the seven-day conference, designed to empower women in six key areas that would enable them to become their “wow” selves.
She stated: “I have never done any ‘Just Us Girls’ that stretched my spirit, soul, body, energy, relationships; everything was stretched for this conference.
“Everything Satan could do, he did at this meeting, but ‘Wowman’ was a huge success. Just Us Girls is not a paid conference because God wants to spoil His daughters. He wants you to have access to everything. Your excuse should never be ‘I don’t have money, that’s why I didn’t come.’”
Guest speaker at the conference, Christie Bature, urged the attendees to be resilient and unbreakable in the face of life’s challenges.
“The level of challenges that come at you are directly proportional to how much respect God has for you. If all you experience is fingernail pains, that is all the respect God has for you. I am spirit; I don’t respond in the realm of the natural; I respond in the realm of the supernatural,” she said.
She further encouraged the women to confront and address abuse in their relationships, stating: “They beat you every day, and you are still there saying the Lord will change him. You are changing from peaceful to disturbed. You are changing from beautiful to messed up. You are changing from a thinker to an abused human being. Abused people perform below capacity. Abused people develop low self-esteem, and people with low self-esteem don’t make an effort.”
