At the award night hosted at Wheatbaker Hotel, Ikoyi Lagos, WIEN President, Mrs. Eyono Fatai-Williams, said the gathering was not just a celebration of success but also for the recognition of the resilience, dedication, and innovation displayed by women who have left indelible marks in the energy sector.
“It is also a reflection that our commitment to fostering a more inclusive and diverse energy landscape has never been stronger, and tonight’s awards ceremony stands as a testament to the incredible talent and excellence within our network.”
Speaking further, she recalled that over the past year, the Women In Energy Network has been committed to creating meaningful impact through a variety of initiatives.
She said that one of the group’s standout accomplishments has been the launch of the WIEN Woman Podcast, a platform that allows them to amplify the voices of inspiring women in the energy sector, sharing their stories, insights, experiences, and expertise. The podcast has not only amplified our mission but has also served as a source of inspiration for many aspiring professionals.
She noted that WIEN’s commitment to knowledge sharing is evident through a series of masterclasses and webinars organised by WIEN, which led to the creation of the WIEN Newsletter, launched earlier in the year and has been a beacon of information and trends within its network and the industry.
While stressing on its WIEN Mentorship Programme, Fatai-Williams said it stands as a shining example of its dedication to nurturing the next generation of female leaders in the industry. “By fostering meaningful connections and providing guidance, we pave the way for success and create a supportive network that transcends boundaries.”
She advised members that in the spirit of unity and empowerment, they should take a moment to appreciate the bonds they have forged within the network, adding that WIEN is not merely an association but a family that nurtures talent, fosters mentorship, and encourages the next generation of women to reach even greater heights.
She however called on the women at the event to embrace the evening with open hearts, inspired minds, and a shared vision for a future where the energy industry is defined by equality, innovation, and the limitless potential of women.
WIEN is an association established in 2020 to provide a platform for Women who work across the Energy Industry value chain to network, build confidence and links to progress their careers or businesses.
