Mojisola Sowunmi: Inspiring women through Deborah’s Ministry

Mojisola Sowunmi

Mojisola Sowunmi, an alumna of Lagos State University with a degree in Accounting, is the founder of Deborah’s Ministry Globally, a ministry committed to interceding for nations and transforming lives through the gospel. As the ministry marks its fourth anniversary on June 10, 2025, Mojisola reflects on a journey defined by prayer, passion, and purpose.

Her entry into ministry was inspired by a deep and abiding love for Jesus Christ. From childhood, Mojisola was drawn to the presence of God, attending programs and surrounding herself with people who shared her love for Christ. That early passion laid the foundation for what would become a lifelong calling to serve and uplift others through faith.

Leading Deborah’s Ministry Globally has not been without its challenges. Mojisola acknowledges that following Christ requires grace and total dependence on the Holy Spirit. Yet, these trials have built her character, strengthening her faith, boldness, and resolve to stand firm in her calling. The obstacles she’s faced have only made her more determined to pursue God’s purpose for her life.

Mojisola’s impact is felt through a variety of outreach efforts under the ministry. These include street evangelism, prison outreach, support for widows and orphans, and the empowerment of women, especially single mothers. As a nation intercessor, she prays regularly for peace and revival across countries, believing in the transformative power of intercession.

Her passion for women in ministry is unmistakable. Mojisola believes that the Church must rise to support female ministers by believing in their vision, encouraging them spiritually, and providing physical and financial support. She sees this as essential to helping women fulfill their God-given mandates.

As a woman in ministry, Mojisola has encountered countless blessings, which she describes as uncountable. Among them are grace, love, mercy, provision, divine protection, favour, direction, and breakthrough. These are signs, she says, of God’s unwavering faithfulness.

She draws inspiration from renowned female ministers such as the late Pastor Bimbo Odukoya, Kathryn Kuhlman, Pastor Funke Adejumo, Joyce Meyer, and others who have used their platforms to impact lives and advance the gospel.

To young girls and women, her advice is heartfelt: “Make God your everything. Love Him deeply, trust Him fully, be faithful to His word, and carry that same faith into your homes, marriages, and communities.”
