A member representing Amuwo-Odofin Constituency 1 at the Lagos State House of Assembly, Stella Foluke Osafile has renewed her call for inclusive governance and grassroots development, urging more women to embrace politics and leadership.
Speaking at the 10th Constituency Stakeholders’ Meeting held in Lagos, themed Governance in Action: The Gains of Renewed Hope Agenda, Osafile showcased her constituency achievements while engaging community leaders, landlords’ associations, and youth groups.
Osafile also emphasised the importance of women’s involvement in governance, stressing that women, as homemakers and society builders, must step up to leadership roles. “Women in politics should set good standards, be transparent and accountable to the people,” she said, adding that aspiring female leaders must learn the ropes, remain teachable, seek mentorship, network, and collaborate.
The lawmaker further educated constituents on the distinct roles of the legislature, executive, and judiciary, noting that separation of powers prevents chaos and ensures democratic stability.
Reaffirming her commitment, Osafile pledged to continue prioritising youth empowerment, food security, inclusive governance, and grassroots development, while amplifying the voices of her constituents at the Assembly.
She highlighted her signature projects, including community clean-up campaigns, the Light Up Amuwo streetlight initiative, food support for vulnerable households, rehabilitation of inner Festac roads, replacement of damaged manholes, free books and bags for students, and youth empowerment programmes in modern agriculture.
