No fewer than 13 persons, including three children, sustained injuries in an auto crash that occurred at Odogbolu junction, along Sagamu-Ore Expressway in Ogun State.
The incident involved a Blue Colour Toyota Varso with registration number FKJ 492 HT, and an Ash Colour Mercedes Benz with registration number KJA 14 KK.
Spokesperson of the Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Agency (TRACE), Babatunde Akinbiyi, confirmed that 18 individuals (10 males, five females and three children) were involved in the accident with no record of death.
He said that the operatives of TRACE, Amotekun Corps and the Police were on ground for rescue mission.
The TRACE Information Officer said that the cause of the crash was due to excessive speed on the part of the driver of the Mercedes Benz, who lost control of the vehicle and rammed into the Toyota car.
According to eyewitnesses, both vehicles involved had a head-on collision, as a result of excessive speed on the side of the Mercedes Benz driver (inbound Sagamu) that lost control of the vehicle and rammed into the Blue Toyota Varso car inbound Odogbolu junction.
Akinbiyi noted that the injured victims had been taken to IDERA Hospital in Odogbolu and Babcock university hospital for medical treatment.
He added that the traffic, which was earlier affected when the rescue mission was on, had returned back to normalcy.
