The Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (CIBN) has planned to hold a presidential investiture ceremony, heralding the formal inauguration of Dr Oladele Alabi as its 24th President/Chairman of Council.
A statement stated that the investiture, scheduled to be held tomorrow, May 16, 2026, at 10.00 a.m. in Lagos, will usher in a new chapter in the Institute’s illustrious history.
It stated that Alabi is an accomplished banking stalwart and seasoned finance executive, who assumes leadership of the Institute with over three decades of distinguished experience spanning treasury and financial institutions, corporate banking, finance, strategy and business development, among others.
He was the pioneer Managing Director of Ecobank Uganda and Executive Director (Finance and Control) at Ecobank Nigeria.
The statement further stated that the presidential investiture ceremony represents a defining milestone for the CIBN, as it ushers in a new era of visionary leadership, institutional advancement, and strengthened professionalism within the banking industry.
Alabi, as the 24th President/Chairman of Council, is expected to provide purposeful and visionary leadership that will further strengthen the Institute’s strategic relevance within the evolving financial services ecosystem.
Besides, the statement stressed that Alabi’s tenure is anticipated to usher in a renewed era of innovation, professional excellence, stakeholders’ engagement, and institutional advancement, while reinforcing the Institute’s unwavering commitment to ethical standards, capacity development, and the promotion of global best practices within the banking profession.
