NIPR institutes annual prize for Baze Mass Communication graduates

The Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), FCT Chapter, has instituted an annual Best Graduating Student Prize for Mass Communication graduates at Baze University.

The Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), FCT Chapter, has instituted an Annual Best Graduating Student Prize for Mass Communication graduates at Baze University as part of efforts to strengthen collaboration between academia and the public relations profession.

The initiative was announced during a courtesy visit by a delegation of the institute, led by the Chairman of the NIPR FCT Chapter, Mr Stanley Azuka Ogadigbo, to the Vice-Chancellor of Baze University, Prof. Abiodun Adeniyi.

Receiving the delegation, Adeniyi welcomed the initiative, describing it as an investment in academic excellence and the professional development of future communication practitioners.

He also conveyed the goodwill of the Chancellor and Founder of Baze University, Senator Datti Baba-Ahmed, while reaffirming the institution’s commitment to partnerships that enhance learning, promote professional excellence and contribute to national development.

Both organisations also agreed to deepen their collaboration through professional mentoring, training programmes, capacity-building initiatives, industry engagement and other activities designed to better prepare students for careers in communication and public relations.

The discussions further focused on the forthcoming World Conference of Public Relations, scheduled to hold later this year. Baze University and the NIPR pledged to work together towards the success of the conference, describing it as an important platform for advancing professional discourse, strengthening international collaboration and showcasing Nigeria’s contributions to the public relations profession.

Adeniyi commended the institute for what he described as its commitment to nurturing the next generation of communication professionals, noting that partnerships between universities and professional bodies are essential to sustaining quality higher education.

He said the collaboration reflects a shared commitment to producing graduates equipped with the knowledge, integrity and professional competence required to excel in the communication industry.

The visit further strengthened the relationship between Baze University and the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations, laying the foundation for future initiatives aimed at benefiting students and advancing the practice of public relations in Nigeria.
