At London book fair, writers, publishers discuss sustainable industry

Writers and publishers recently converged on Olympia, London for the 2026 book fair. The event, which is regarded as one of the largest and most prestigious yearly spring book trade and publishing event in the world, chatted way forward for a sustainable writing and publishing industry.

It created a platform for agents, authors, writers and publishers to work together on how to continue to navigate, sustain the industry as well as promote reading culture among institutions and the global public.

It also provided an opportunity to discuss how writers and authors can navigate the industry and also hold their space.

Speaking at the fair, a writer and attendee, Hakeem Ajao, stressed,“LBF provides the platform for aspiring authors to explore ideas, develop and grow in the industry. It also affords the opportunity to discuss with literary enthusiasts, fellow writers, agents and the decision makers in the publishing industry.”

This year, LBF edition attracted speakers and keynote addresses from leading publishing executives, which included Audible CEO, Bob Carrigan; Pan Macmillan CEO, Joanna Prior; Penguin Random House UK CEO, Tom Weldon. Also present at the 2026 LBF werere publishing experts and authors – Amanda Harris, Hennah Sandhu, Steven Dumughn and T. M Logan.
