Music producers ought to be the richest in the industry – Jaysynths

Maverick producer, Chisom Obinna Onyeke a.k.a Jaysynths is not a small fry when it comes to making music. With several songs in his kitty, he is one of the most sought after producers in the country.

Jaysynths however believes music producers don’t yet get their honour in the Nigerian music industry.

”We need to take music producers more seriously. We actually should be the richest in the music industry but we are always not regarded because we are always behind the scenes. But I’m sure that would change soon”.

Narrating how is music journey began, the Enugu State indigene stated : ”Music has always been a part of me. I started my career as a drummer, but I have grown into being a keyboardist and a bassist. As a music producer, I started in 2015 before moving to Lagos from Abuja where I spent most of life as a music director and a church keyboardist in my church. I have been producing since 2015 till now. I have worked with most of the industry greats. I have worked with Teni, Skiibii, Mr Eazi, Ice prince, Mr P, Victor AD, Kuami Eugene, KiDi, and many more”.

On the challenges he experienced in the early days of his career, the Political Science graduate of the University of Abuja said: “The early challenges were learning to create world music. But I had to learn the techniques on how to create a good sound. This worked for me as soon as I got the techniques right”.

Jaysynths also added that his love for music made him decide to make it a career.
“I believe in making one’s passion one’s profession. Since I have a deep love for music I decided to make it a career. It’s fun being paid for what you are passionate doing”.
