London-based British-Nigerian Afro-R&B music crooner, Princess Adenuga, better known as Princess has released her debut single titled ‘Moving On’.
The curvy nightingale who discovered her talent and passion for music at the age of 5, started classical singing and playing the orchestra at the age of 11 is stopping at nothing to exert herself as a rare music breed on the Nigerian music scene.
Speaking in an exclusive chat, the pretty music diva explained how these experiences at a quite tender age influenced her music craft.
She said, “I love music that is soulful and makes you feel something. I’m someone who will listen to heartbreak songs all day every day, not because I’m heartbroken and sad but because the music has made me feel something. These experiences have given me that and that’s something that I want to give my listeners. I want people to feel all types of emotions when they listen to me and to be able to understand my point of view. When people listen to my music I want them to really understand what I’m saying. But most importantly, the instrumental has to be able to do the talking with the lyrics.”
Recalling how she discovered her talent for music, she noted, “I’ve been singing since I can remember, I’ve always loved music. I play music throughout my day and sing all the time. It’s a very big part of my life. I’ve loved entertaining people from when I was young. So, I decided to be an artist in the music industry felt like the most natural thing to do.”
Speaking further, she explained how supportive her parents and siblings were and have been, of her music career.
“My parents and siblings were very supportive of my decision to pursue music. They’ve known that it’s something I’ve always wanted to do as a career so for them they were both excited and nervous as to what it meant for me to actually take the plunge and do it”, she submitted.
