Security operatives have blocked access to the venue scheduled for a Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) factional gathering reportedly convened to ratify former President Goodluck Jonathan as a presidential candidate.

The development occurred ahead of the planned meeting, with police officers stationed around the premises to prevent entry and maintain order.

Eyewitnesses reported that party members and supporters were turned back at the entrance, while security presence remained heightened in the area.

The meeting, which had generated political attention within party circles, was expected to deliberate on internal arrangements and possible endorsements ahead of future elections.

However, the police action effectively halted proceedings at the location, leaving participants uncertain about the next line of action.
