Member of the House of Representatives representing Oredo Federal Constituency, Hon Esosa Iyawe, has commended the Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA) for what he described as a landmark step toward strengthening Nigeria’s aviation sector.
Iyawe spoke at the groundbreaking ceremony for NAMA’s new Corporate Headquarters and Air Traffic Management (ATM) Centre, noting that the project would significantly enhance airspace management, safety, and operational efficiency across the country.
Representing the Chairman of the House Committee on Aviation at the historic event, the lawmaker praised the agency for setting a new development agenda aimed at repositioning the aviation sector for optimal and sustainable performance.
Describing the project as a major milestone, Iyawe said the initiative underscored NAMA’s commitment to infrastructure renewal and technological advancement within the industry.
“On Thursday, I had the honour of representing the Chairman, House Committee on Aviation at the groundbreaking ceremony of the new Corporate Headquarters and Air Traffic Management Centre of NAMA at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport,” he said.
He also commended the Honourable Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, SAN, for what he described as visionary leadership and commitment to sectoral growth.
“I must commend the Honourable Minister for his dedication to infrastructure renewal and the overall development of the aviation industry,” Iyawe added.
The lawmaker further praised the management of NAMA, aviation regulators, development partners and other industry stakeholders for their collaborative efforts in driving progress within the sector.
He assured that the House of Representatives would continue to provide the necessary legislative backing and effective oversight required to ensure the successful delivery of the project.
“On behalf of the Chairman, House Committee on Aviation, I conveyed our firm assurance of sustained legislative support and effective oversight to ensure that this critical project is delivered with transparency, quality and value for money,” he said.
Iyawe described his participation in the ceremony as a privilege, noting that the project represents a significant step toward securing the future of Nigeria’s aviation industry.
“It was indeed a privilege to be part of this important milestone for our nation’s aviation future,” he concluded.
