Pronalytics, an enterprise compliance technology company, has secured accreditation from the Nigeria Revenue Service (NRS) to operate as a System Integrator under the Merchant Buyer Solution (MBS) e-invoicing framework.

The accreditation allows Pronalytics to connect businesses’ existing accounting and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems to the NRS platform for real-time invoice validation, placing the company among firms authorised to provide integration services within Nigeria’s e-invoicing infrastructure.

The company said its focus is on supporting the next wave of businesses entering the e-invoicing mandate, particularly mid-sized and smaller organisations that may not have the internal technology or compliance teams available to larger taxpayers.

The e-invoicing rollout initially focused on large taxpayers with annual turnover above N5 billion, while subsequent phases are bringing more businesses into the framework.

Pronalytics’ Chief Executive Officer, Lucky Johnson, said the accreditation strengthened the company’s position in Nigeria’s compliance technology ecosystem.

Rather than requiring businesses to replace their existing accounting or invoicing software, Pronalytics said its System Integrator model provides the technical layer needed to connect those systems to the NRS platform.

The integration converts invoice data into the format prescribed under the NRS framework, validates it through the MBS platform in real time and returns the outcome to the business’s existing records.

The company said the approach is particularly suited to businesses that already have established accounting systems but need additional infrastructure to meet the technical requirements of the e-invoicing mandate.

System Integrator accreditation under the NRS framework involves technical and governance requirements, with the NRS and the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) reviewing applicants on areas including technical architecture, data security and governance standards.

The requirements reflect the nature of the information handled through the integration process, including buyer and seller identification, invoice values and other tax-related commercial records.

Pronalytics has also partnered with Remita, an NRS-accredited Access Point Provider (APP), to facilitate the transmission of validated invoice data to the NRS.

Under the MBS framework, the System Integrator connects businesses’ systems and converts invoice information, while the Access Point Provider handles secure transmission of the validated data to the NRS.

Pronalytics said the partnership allows businesses to access both functions through a single engagement, reducing the need to manage separate service providers for the e-invoicing process.

Both services are integrated through TaxAnchor360, Pronalytics’ platform for NRS e-invoicing, tax intelligence and Central Bank of Nigeria compliance.

The company said TaxAnchor360 is designed around what it describes as “continuous compliance”, treating tax and regulatory obligations as ongoing operational processes rather than periodic filing exercises.

According to Pronalytics, this model is aimed at businesses without dedicated compliance teams by helping them maintain the required technical connection and adapt to changes in NRS requirements without significant intervention from their internal teams.

The company said the expansion of Nigeria’s e-invoicing mandate is creating growing demand for accredited technology providers, while the number of authorised System Integrators and Access Point Providers remains relatively limited.
