Kano Electricity Distribution Company (KEDCO) said it has put in place all the necessary modalities to boost revenue generation in 2019.

KEDCO Managing Director, Dr. Jamilu Isyaku Gwamna, who disclosed this at the just concluded marketing conference in Kano, said proper assessment had been done and strategies put in place.

Gwamna noted that the outcome of the assessment was already yielding the desired results, adding that necessitated the N48billion target for 2019, which translates to N4billion every month.

He said that KEDCO’s receipts before now hovered around N1.5billion, adding that after the pre-restructuring strategy, collection increased to N2.7billion.

“We have done our assessment and based on that, strategies have been developed so as to achieve the desired result and target for 2019. Before now, our collection was put at N1.5billion.

“After the pre-restructuring collection, we were able to up our collection by N1.2billion to have N2.7billion. This is huge and we hope to consolidate on that in the coming year,’’ he said.

The KEDCO boss remarked that there were other consolidated gains of restructuring, including “achieving book code realignment, feeder metering, customer asset validation tagging and indexing, increased deployment of working tools and safety gears and staff training and retraining.”

He explained that the N4billion target for 2019 would be pursued using four strategies, such as being a responsive and customer-centric company, as well as improving synergy with stakeholders.

We intend also to create a flat-structured organization, where everyone has the opportunity to influence the direction of the company and building an ecosystem approach in order to solve problems and open new opportunities.

Gwamna assured that the N4billion target collection of the company would be in compliance with the satisfaction of customers, adding that 2019 would be a priority year to minimize complaints from customers and ensuing a world-class customer service delivery.
