Artistic skills build confidence in children, say experts

Education expert and coordinator, Kiddies Mirror Initiative, Ms. Felicia Owolo has called on stakeholders to invest in children's education since it is the bedrock of development.

Education expert and coordinator, Kiddies Mirror Initiative, Ms. Felicia Owolo has called on stakeholders to invest in children’s education since it is the bedrock of development.

Besides, she added that the foundation equips the children with good character traits, skills, and etiquette that would transform them into purposeful leaders.

Owolo noted that children are imbued with different talents and skills, which are either ignored or not discovered by parents.

She stated that from ages one to 10, parents and caregivers should nurture and look out for both soft and hard skills in their wards.

“By age 16 and above, they should be helped to discover their potentials and harnessed to form the total adult.

A community leader, Chief Sheibu Falana, emphasised the need to catch them young by building smart and confident children, who would discover, explore and develop their potentials, in order to benefit themselves and other generations.

Falana advised children to pursue their vision and support one another for a peaceful nation. He urged children to build strong relationships with families, and learn to know how to connect people instrumental to great relationships through building a great network.
