The Founder of Lutful-Lahi International, Sheikh Mohammed Robiu Adebayo Abdul Malik has urged religious leaders to refrain from supporting political parties, which can in turn lead to personal dislike for one another, anger among the followership, and eventually creating division in the country.

“As Clerics, we are to stand for what is true while seeking unity for the country and praying for their wisdom and well-being” he said.

He gave the advise during the group’s Lailatul Qadri prayer in Lagos.

The cleric urged Nigerian leaders and politicians to make the fear of God as the bedrock in their dealings, so that peace and prosperity will prevail in the land.

“The political leaders should reverence God and imbibe the exemplary leadership character of the holy prophet (SAW), so that it will be well with them and the nation,” he said.

Abdul Malik urged Nigerians to always pray for the nation so that every obstacle on the way would be overcome, and thereby enable Nigeria to attain greatness as well as know the peace, tranquility and blessings that come from the Most High God.

He said the just concluded blessed month of Ramadan was the month for renewing commitment and re-establishing relationship with Allah.
