The Association of Professional Bodies of Nigeria (APBN) will hold its 2022 presidential retreat in Uyo, the Akwa Ibom State capital.

According to a press statement signed by the APBN President, Mr Akinloye Oyegbola, the two-day retreat commences Thursday, March 24, 2022, and will attract professionals all over the country.

According to Oyegbola, professionals have key roles to play in national development and the retreat will afford the APBN the opportunity to discuss with other stakeholders on how to harness the skills of indigenous professionals to improve Nigeria’s economy.

According to him, the 2022 president retreat has the theme: ‘National Development Plan: The Role Of Professional’.

It also has the following sub-themes ‘Strategies for APBN inclusion in national development; Review of national growth strategies: issues and options.

He explained that at this moment in Nigeria’s development, the government must fully deploy its professionals to critical sectors to tackle the myriads of challenges confronting the country.

The special guest of honour expected at the event is the Akwa Ibom State Governor, Mr Udom Emmanuel.

Key speakers at the retreat include Prof. Effong Johnson and Prof. Akpan Ekpo, among others.

The APBN is the umbrella body of over 30 recognized professional institutes, institutions and associations in Nigeria.
