Versat powers EXEED’s Nigerian debut, fusing innovation, design

Versat Automobile Limited is stepping up preparations for the Nigerian debut of EXEED, the premium automotive brand of Chinese automaker Chery Automobile, with a focus on the technology, design philosophy and performance features, which are expected to distinguish the marque in the country’s competitive premium vehicle market.

The company said it would provide prospective customers with a closer look at the brand’s engineering, styling and vision for premium mobility ahead of its official Nigerian launch scheduled for December 2026.

The planned entry marks an expansion of Versat’s presence in Nigeria’s automotive industry, as it moves beyond commercial vehicles into the premium passenger-car segment.

EXEED, built around the philosophy Born for More, is positioned to appeal to motorists seeking a combination of intelligent technology, sophisticated design, driving comfort and performance.

According to Versat, the brand draws on Chery’s automotive research and development capabilities to develop vehicles that combine contemporary styling with technology-driven motoring experiences.

The company’s pre-launch programme is expected to highlight the engineering and design principles behind EXEED, as it seeks to build awareness of the brand among Nigerian consumers before the official unveiling.

General Manager, Sales, Versat Automobile Limited, Christopher Irumudomon, described the planned introduction as a new chapter for premium mobility in Nigeria, expressing confidence that the brand would appeal to customers looking beyond conventional premium vehicle offerings.

EXEED’s entry comes as competition in Nigeria’s premium automotive market increasingly places emphasis on vehicle technology, interior refinement, safety, performance and ownership experience.

However, establishing a foothold in the segment would require more than distinctive styling and advanced features.

Pricing, availability of spare parts, warranty coverage, maintenance facilities and dependable after-sales service are likely to influence consumer acceptance, particularly as buyers weigh the cost of acquiring and maintaining premium vehicles.

For Versat, the introduction of EXEED represents an opportunity to broaden its product portfolio and reach a different customer segment.

The December launch is expected to provide further details on the models to be offered locally, including their specifications, performance capabilities, and pricing.
