3. Search for Music You Like
You can find the Sounds icon in the top part of the screen. After tapping on it, you will see a list of songs. Then, you can select any track and play it while recording your clips. In this way, you can synchronize your videos with the audio.
The app allows you to use only one song for one video. For instance, it’s possible to select different parts of the same song that last from 15 to 60 seconds. You can also lower the volume of the sound recorded with your camera and raise the volume of the music or vice versa.
To adjust the sound, tap on the Arrow icon to see several options on the screen. Click on Volume and use Original sound and Added sound sliders to adjust the volume to your liking.
By moving the Added sound slider, you can change the volume of the music track. The Original sound slider enables you to adjust the sound recorded by your camera.
4. Add Voice Effects
When your video is ready, tap on the Checkmark in the bottom right part of the screen. You will see the Voice effects icon at the top. It allows you to use a variety of effects that distort audio.
These effects are perfect for enhancing TikToks with voice-overs. They can be used for distorting the original and added sound. The chipmunk effect is the most popular among TikTok users. It allows you to distort the sound of your voice and make it squeakier.
5. Add Sound Effects
Tab on the Sounds icon to select a sound effect for your video. You can also upload it from your device. In this library, you can find any effect by entering a keyword, such as boom, bang or splat, and the words “sound effect.”
If you have already created an effect and want to add it, tap on the Voice-over icon on the right. You can further edit this audio effect, adjust its volume and decide which part you want to use.
6. Use Transitions
After recording and saving your video, you can find the Transition icon in the bottom part of the Effects window. There, you can find a collection of transition effects that can make your videos look more engaging. For instance, you can make transitions between different parts of your video smoother.
Select the transition that suits your video better. Then, tap on the timeline to add the transition to any part of the video of your choice. In the library, you can find many transitions that are perfect for transformation and reveal videos. You can also make a transition more noticeable by tapping on it two times to copy it.
After adding a transition, play the clip to see the result. If something looks wrong, you can tap on the Undo icon below the video and add another transition.
Most users prefer using the Scroll transition since it makes it look like you are scrolling from one part of a video to another in the way you scroll the TikTok feed.
7. Incorporate Text
When your video is ready, you can decide on a title. Tap on the Text icon to select the right font, color and size. After entering the text, you can decide where to add it and how long it will be visible on the screen. To make the adjustments, tap on the title.
You will see an outline around your text. Then, you will be able to set the duration and customize the text to your liking.
After tapping on the Set Duration icon, you can select the length of your clip. If you tap on Edit, you will return to the screen where you can select the font, color and size of the text.
8. Include Stickers
In the bottom part of the screen, you will see the Stickers icon. By tapping on it, you can open a collection of graphics and emojis that can be added to your clip.
For instance, you can add a time, polls and stickers to your video to make it look more eye-catching. Besides, it’s possible to use the Face zoom option or manually zoom in on any part of your clip.
