MEL G embarks on a charity initiative with fit esteem
Mel G has embarked on a food and grocery drive aimed at supporting the needy and feeding the homeless around Los Angeles. The food, grocery and clothing distribution drive which is an initiative of The FIT ESTEEM women’s empowerment platform will commence from the 10th through the 23th of April 2021.
According to Mel G, the aim of the drive is to raise enough materials and supplies to assist and also feed at least 500 needy and/or homeless people around Los Angeles. Mel G, who is the founder of Fit Esteem, said she intends to reach out to her followers on social media as well as the community for help in raising what is needed. She said at the peak of the coronavirus pandemic infections and subsequent lockdown she supported almost 200 families through her various platforms. “So far I have fed over 1,000 families since December to March, equivalent to 10,038 individuals. I have acknowledged that I cannot do it alone so I have decided to involve my fans and followers too” Mel said.
Melissa Gonzalez aka Mel G is a singer, songwriter, fitness/wellness coach and entrepreneur. She is the founder of FIT ESTEEM a women empowerment platform focused on motivating and empowering women. She says she was motivated to begin this initiative due to the countless people finding it difficult to get by or afford a full meal daily. “In these covid times giving back is not just an act of charity or love, but of survival of the fittest”, she says.
Mel G said support from her fans and followers has been overwhelming so far and even though the main aim was to raise groceries and food supplies people have responded by giving money and articles of clothing too.
