SPECTRA donates Hyfiba Meals to Lagos state

Says Product Can Boost Immune Against COVID-19

Spectra Industries Limited, Lagos, has donated a truckload of Hyfiba Meals, one of its food products to the Lagos State Government for distribution to the needy, to cushion the effect of COVID-19 pandemic in the state.

The Executive Director of the company, Mrs. Remi Kuteyi, while presenting the products to the Commissioner of Agriculture, Gbolahan Lawal, at the Lagos State Government Warehouse, 21st Century Warehouse, 3, Niwil Close, Off Oba Akaran Avenue, Ikeja, said the gesture was part of the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), considering the efforts the state had made so far to assist the vulnerable people.

“The state government has been helping the vulnerable people during the lockdown and we felt that our company, operating in Lagos State should be part of the efforts. Each bag of the products contains 12 packs. Hyfiba Meals is a highly nutritious product made from Sorghum and Soyabean. It can be prepared like Amala or Tuwo as swallow.”

While receiving the products on behalf of the state, Lawal enjoined other companies to emulate the spirit of imparting the society at this critical time.

The Chief Executive Officer of the company, Mr. Duro Kuteyi called on Nigerians to embrace daily consumption of the nutritious meals with fibre, especially during this pandemic as it has the ability to boost immune system, to wade off coronavirus infection, among other medical benefits.

“The product is made from sorghum and soyabean. Sorghum has many health benefits. It’s a non-wheat grain that offers a dietary option to people with celiac disease, controls diabetes; improve digestive health, among other benefits.

While speaking on its digestive health potential, Kuteyi said Sorghum is one of the best foods for dietary fiber, adding that a cup of its grains contains almost 13 grams of dietary fiber, “meaning that your digestive tract keeps food moving along smoothly, preventing cramping, bloating, constipation, stomach aches, excess gas, and diarrhea.  

“Sorghum has anticancer potential, has complex carbohydrates to manage diabetes, has gluten-free grain option, improves bone health, increases circulation, and contains energy-boosting nutrients. Those potential are present in the Hyfiba Meals.“
