APC Women leader lauds Gov Abiodun on affirmative action, empowerment scheme

In her first outing as the elected All Progressives Congress (APC) National Women Leader, Dr Betta Edu, has commended the Ogun State Governor, His Excellency, Dapo Biodun for his friendly dispositions towards women with the signing of the 35 percent affirmative action for Women and the launch of Nigeria Women Empowerment Project tagged” Oko’wo Dapo Scheme.
In a statement on Friday in Abeokuta, the Women Leader expressed satisfaction at the women-friendly policies of the governor and urged other governors to emulate the same, adding that the time for women to be actively engaged at all tiers of governance was now
She also used the opportunity to thank the governor and other stakeholders and delegates that voted for her during last weekend’s convention and promised a new lease of life for Nigerian women.
Dr Edu also lauded the shining examples and leadership being provided by the Minister of Women Affairs, Hon Paulen Tallen, Minister of Finance, Mrs Zainab Ahmed and other women heading different ministries and parastatals.
She affirmed her plan to Mobilise women nationwide ahead of the general election and ensure that the APC wins all elective positions using the influence of the women’s wing, which makes up the highest voting population.
She also thanked the wife of the governor for being a pillar and support.to her husband and for carrying all women in the state along in her programmes.
