It is a huge industry with wide arrays of specializations. Even though the industry has been existing for a long time, we now see more university graduates venturing into events planning- most of whom do not have background in hospitality. But with rigorous vocational training and commitments, they are excelling impressively”. Funmilola further states that, “events planning, as interesting as the field is, requires thorough planning and attention to details”.

When asked about the challenges of being an Events Planner, Funmilola submits that, “truthfully every occupation has its challenges, no matter how minute it may seem. For us in the events industry, we deal with people directly, so managing the interests of people with different personalities is not always an easy task.

Another challenge we are encountering now is the issue of inflation. Prices of things have gone up unbearably. So it becomes a bottleneck for an event planner to work around client’s budget and still deliver efficiently. Also, we have been able to reachable for events deals via online bookings and meetings. We have presence on social media platforms such as Instagram, Twitter and LinkedIn”.

Dreamland Event’s CEO also revealed how the company and many other events planners look forward to doing more exploits in their businesses. She admonished events vendors to stay together as a United front, thereby approaching the government for support at any required level targeted at fostering growths and stability in the events industry. According to her, “we cannot quantify how much events planners contribute to the economy, it is worthy that government pays attention to our needs. Basically, if inflation is well arrested, we will experience hitch-free executions. This can Only happen if we events planners come together as a reputable organization and express our requests to the government accordingly”.

“With offices in Nigeria and United States of America; Dreamland Events has planned over 100 events ranging from birthdays, burials, house warming, conferences, weddings and we are committed more.” Funmilola submitted.
