As the world marks International Women’s Day 2025, the Rhoda Kusimo Foundation has officially launched, with a mission to ensure that women—regardless of their background—have access to opportunities that enable them to thrive.
The Foundation’s unveiling marks the beginning of a transformative movement dedicated to equipping women with the tools, education, funding, and mentorship needed to succeed in various spheres of life.
Speaking at the launch, Rhoda Kusimo, a business leader, PR strategist, and advocate for women’s and children’s development, reaffirmed her dedication to supporting women beyond just one-day celebrations like International Women’s Day.
“Women across industries continue to break barriers, yet many face systemic challenges that limit their growth. By launching the Rhoda Kusimo Foundation today, the message is clear: empowering women isn’t just an annual event—it’s a continuous commitment to uplifting, educating, and supporting women,” she stated.
She further emphasized that true empowerment comes from providing access to opportunities, adding:
“The strength of a woman lies not just in her ability to persevere but in the opportunities she is given to rise. Through this Foundation, we are creating a platform that ensures more women have access to education, business opportunities, funding, information, and mentorship. We are bridging the gap and building a stronger future.”
The Rhoda Kusimo Foundation is set to roll out a series of impactful initiatives aimed at addressing critical challenges women face, including skill development programmes in Abuja, Kaduna, and Lagos to equip women with industry-relevant skills, business grants to support female entrepreneurs, mentorship & networking platforms to connect women with industry leaders, and advocacy & awareness campaigns focused on women’s rights, financial literacy, and health education.
The Foundation is calling on individuals, businesses, and policymakers to support its mission, stressing that women’s empowerment requires a collective effort.
“This movement needs people willing to open doors, share knowledge, and provide resources. Together, we can create a world where women are not just surviving but thriving,” Kusimo stated.
