Roli Okoregbo is the CEO of Kaizen Healthcare and Pharmacy Services and founder of Nigeria’s first bottled sugarcane juice: Wild Juice.

Roli is a graduate of the University of Benin with a Bachelor of Pharmacy degree. She went ahead to acquire a diploma from Britain’s foremost organic skincare school, Formula Botanica, where she obtained a certificate in International Organic Skincare Entrepreneur Program. She also has a certification from the American Pharmacy Association on immunisation.

Roli has worked in both public and private sectors as a volunteer pharmacist and health educator. She runs several health promotion activities including Stroke Assessment and Prevention (STRAP) in her facility.

She is currently the CEO of Kaizen Pharmacy and the brain behind Wild Juice. She is passionate about all things health, to ensure everyone lives a healthy life to prevent diseases.

What problems does your company solve?
Kaizen pharmacy is all about patient-care. We believe that pharmacy practice is way more than dispensing drugs. Just like our motto: we care about continuous health. Wild juice is an healthy alternative to fizzy drink.

How did the idea of your business start?
After pharmacy school I went for my one-year compulsory internship at Jay Kay Pharmacy, after which I went into the family business. After a while I had the urge to practice and use my pharmaceutical skills to meet the needs of good pharmaceutical care within the environment we find ourselves. So I went for more training on pharmaceutical care, after which Kaizen Pharmacy was born.

Wild Juice story is a very interesting one. Since we care about health including healthy skin, so I went for a course in UK, Formula Botanica (a natural organic skin care school). It was during this course I stumbled upon sugarcane- both the benefits internally and externally. So I thought why don’t I make this into a juice since people find it hard to chew?  So the benefits of sugar cane are easily accessible.

Top three skills to have as an entrepreneur   Determination: you must be determined to succeed, this is my drive in everything you do.

Focus. Self-Reliance. Problem-Solving.

How do you handle failure?
Go back to the drawing board and start again.

How long do you stick to an idea before giving up?
I don’t give up on my ideas; I really have not given up on anything
What motivates you?
Fear of failure. I want to be a success; I want to be the best I can be in everything I find myself.

How would you define success?
Success to me for now is being able to afford anything I want, when I want it and how I want it. Because at every stage in life your definition changes, it is time-bound and relative. For my business, it is being able to make a positive impact in people’s lives.
