Questions and Answers: Young woman’s guide

Yetunde Odugbesan-Omede

It is true that we’ve got to go inward to find truth but sometimes the truth is outward. It’s in the lessons and stories of people who have gone ahead and having them show the way. Dr. Yetunde, please I’ll like you to show me how to be a professor at such a young age and be successful at other roles such as being a Christian, a wife, mother, entrepreneur and empower women?

Priscilla A.
It’s all about balancing it all. Your education is a priority so do everything you can to be excellent and to finish your studies. During my PhD I served as a teaching assistant. I was teaching college level classes at 24 years old and those experiences and training allowed me to perfect my craft in teaching and being a well-rounded professor. As a Christian, wife, mother, entrepreneur and more, I look at all these roles as a part of who I am and I give attention and priority to all of them equally. Balancing is not easy but it’s a deliberate act. You have to work towards to it and all will be well.
