In an era where the world is increasingly emphasising the importance of female empowerment, Exam Padi has stepped up to the plate with its groundbreaking ‘Empower Her’ initiative.

This initiative is a pivotal step towards uplifting and empowering the girl-child, with the ultimate goal of fostering academic excellence, ethical leadership and digital literacy across Africa. It recognises the potential inherent in these young minds and is dedicated to providing them with the tools they need to succeed.

As part of this broader mission, Empower Her was launched as a strategic collaboration with the accomplished healthcare professional, Carol Banks. With over 16 years of experience in the field, Banks brings a wealth of insights and leadership skills to the table, making her a pivotal figure in this innovative project.

The Empower Her initiative is not just another conventional project. It represents a significant stride towards empowering young girls, an often-underrepresented group in many parts of the world, to achieve their full potential.

The project’s inauguration took place at Queens College, Yaba, coinciding with the International Day of the Girl Child and focusing on the importance of ethical examination practices and the value of exam integrity.

The event, which marked the debut edition of the project, was designed to be a celebration of young girls and a platform for fostering mentorship opportunities. Its goal is to inspire and equip the girl child with essential life skills, knowledge and motivation needed to excel in various aspects of life, including healthcare and leadership.

About 200 students in junior and senior secondary school at Queens College, Yaba, were reached during the programme. A raffle draw was conducted during the event and a lucky student won a brand-new tablet.

Also, Banks engaged with the students in a book signing session, generously gifting 25 students with her book, ‘Ethical Leadership’, which imparts transformative leadership knowledge and skills to the next generation of leaders.

One of the remarkable aspects of the Empower Her initiative is the opportunity it affords students to learn from seasoned professionals like Banks. Her extensive experience and impressive track record serve as an inspiration for young minds to reach for the stars.
