As soon as Mr Vincent pulled into the luxurious hotel, I saw my friends Onyeka and Tosin in the driveway looking all dressed up.
They had on the same teal blue dress I had picked out for my bridesmaids a few months earlier, and they were both holding a small bouquet of flowers. Mr Vincent looked at me with mischief written all over his face.
“Madam please get down they are waiting for you’’. He announced.
“What is going on here Mr Vincent”? I asked. To be honest I was quite confused, and I had no intention of getting out of the car without knowing what I was walking into.
Mr Vincent didn’t respond, instead he got out of the car and came over to open the door for me. That was when Tosin and Onyeka spotted us. They rushed towards me.
“Mr Vincent please bring the dress”. Tosin instructed.
“What dress”? I asked, still in my state of utter confusion.
“Where is the makeup artist”? Onyeka asked Tosin. They had both ignored my question. “She is in the suite waiting”. Tosin said.
Mr Vincent emerged with a dress I recognised. It was the dress I had bought for my wedding months ago. I didn’t even realise it had been packed and put in the trunk of the car. At that point I realised I needed clarity urgently!
“Can somebody just tell me what is going here”? I exclaimed. I heard a voice from behind me.
“We are getting married right now”.
I turned around and saw Tunji standing there, looking dapper in the tuxedo he had bought for our wedding.
“I don’t understand”. I said to him.
He flashed me a dimpled smile. “Go and get dressed my princess, forever starts today”.
