Life doesn’t always introduce you to the people you want to meet. Sometimes life puts you in touch with the people you need to meet to help you, to hurt you, to love you, and to gradually strengthen you into the person you were meant to become. But one thing I know for sure is that I want peace of mind in whatever relationship I find myself in, a relationship that there’s respect, tenderness and most of all, LOVE.

You come to love not by finding “The perfect person but by seeing an imperfect person perfectly because if its meant for you, you won’t have to beg for it, You will never have to sacrifice your dignity for your destiny.

In the culture we live in today, we have somehow learnt helplessness. Probably, in all likelihood, there are multiple influences. Or maybe I’m the only woman I know who secretly has longed, for years, for that dark and handsome guy to come sweep me off my feet (What? This is my fairytale) into his shiny, muscular arms and carry me off to our happily ever after. Yeah, it must just be me. Lol.

But some part of me thinks I’m not alone. I know for sure lots of ladies out there want the same thing. And it hardly matters where you’re from or what color you are, somehow you think, if you’re female, that your Prince Charming is just around the corner running towards you right? This is what cartoons like Snow White has caused o. lol.

Well, I’ve kissed my share of frogs. And I’ve got to tell you, not one of them has become prince-like. Oh sure, I’ve had my share of dark and handsome fellas. As well as one or two light and good-looking ones even if I’m not really into light skinned guys.

Waiting for someone to rescue you isn’t just about love. Well, I expected life to be easier than it has been especially in relationships. And a part of me secretly hoped someone, any someone, would swoop in and carry me off to my happily ever after. That didn’t happen. Not yet anyway.

Well, I now get that I’m the one I’ve been waiting for. Ain’t nobody coming! Along with getting okay with this fact, I also discovered how cool (though still sometimes scary) it is that I get to be the architect of my life.

I’m going to share with you some signs that say you are the ultimate, signs that say “You complete You”.
* You quit wishing, hoping and waiting for something to happen and step up your creating.
* You stop waiting for someone to give you the green light and take the yellow light.
* You stop approval-seeking.
* You stop making other people’s opinion of you more important than your own.
* You ask for way, way, way more and stop settling for what you get
* You fall madly in love with you.
* You stop pining for love and instead be love.
* You do the things you’ve dreamed of, with or without a companion by your side.
* You wear the clothes, colors and hair-styles that make you feel fabulous.
* You stop feeling incomplete.
* And finally, you stop looking for someone to complete you.

If you’ve been sitting on ice, i.e., waiting, you really are the one you’ve been waiting for. No kidding. See, when we become the kind of person we’d like to attract, not only are we more attractive to these types of people, but we start to really enjoy life. Wishing, hoping, and waiting for someone to bring joy, abundance, opportunity, a breakthrough, and love into your life is just plain wasteful. Stop it!

Now that you’re clear that you complete you and you’re the architect of your life, what are you excited about building?

To our happiness. Cheers.
