On Sunday, August 25th, 2024, the Women of Rubies community convened for the second edition of their Sip and Network event at The Foy House, 92 Isabella Street. This dynamic gathering united women from diverse industries for an evening of empowerment, collaboration, and insightful discussions designed to foster personal and professional growth.

The Sip and Network 2.0 event was expertly guided by Ariyike Akinbobola, a respected Media Personality and skilled event host. Ariyike’s welcoming demeanor and engaging approach set the stage for meaningful interactions, making attendees feel at ease and eager to connect.

Esther Ijewere, the visionary founder of Women of Rubies and the driving force behind the event, delivered a compelling welcome address that emphasized the importance of authenticity and mutual support among women. Her words laid the groundwork for the evening’s focus on empowerment and community-building.

“At Women of Rubies, our mission in Canada is to empower women by creating spaces where they can network, learn, and grow together,” said Esther Ijewere. “We are committed to fostering a community of women who support one another, both personally and professionally. Events like Sip and Network are designed to inspire women, providing them with the tools and connections they need to thrive in their respective fields.”

The event’s programme featured a series of powerful talks from five accomplished speakers who shared their knowledge on a range of pertinent topics:

Erica Effah, a content marketer, opened the session with her presentation, “From Failure to Founder: Building a Personal Brand Through Authentic Storytelling.” Erica offered practical advice on developing a personal narrative and leveraging storytelling to create an authentic brand presence.

Modupe Ehinlaiye, a legal expert and talk show host, discussed “Leveraging Media to Celebrate Diaspora Achievements.” She underscored the importance of media in highlighting the successes of diaspora communities and introduced her upcoming BOND Awards, aimed at honoring Nigerians in the diaspora.

Amaechi Omijeh, a small business blogger, shared insights on “Promoting Small Businesses through Lifestyle Blogging.” She provided valuable tips for using lifestyle blogging as a tool to boost small businesses, offering actionable strategies for entrepreneurs.

Pamela Anoliefo, a career coach, explored the topic of “Leveraging Social Media for Personal and Professional Growth.” Pamela emphasized the role of social media in personal branding and career advancement, offering guidance on building a strong online presence.

Tanya Kelen of Kelen Content wrapped up the speaker sessions with her talk on “Content Production & Marketing for Personal Brand Growth.” Tanya discussed effective methods for creating and marketing content to enhance personal brand impact.
