Nollywood actress Chioma Chukwuka has won Best Lead Actress at the 2025 Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCA) for her role in the drama “Seven Doors.”
The award was announced during the AMVCA ceremony on Saturday, May 11, in Lagos.
Her performance in “Seven Doors” earned her praise for its emotional depth, authenticity, and commanding presence.
Chioma beat a strong list of nominees, including Bimbo Ademoye (Anikulapo: Rise of the Spectre), Gbubemi Ejeye (Farmer’s Bride), Hilda Dokubo (Wives on Strike 3), Uzoamaka Onuoha (Agemo), Uzoamaka Aniunoh (Phoenix Fury), and Uche Montana (Thin Line).
According to organisers, the award celebrates outstanding achievements in African film, television, and digital content.
The event, hosted by Multichoice, began on Wednesday with Iconic Night before culminating in the main awards night on Saturday.
Recall that Seven Doors also secured multiple nominations, including Best Movie and Best Lead Actor, with Femi Adebayo in the running.
Other highly nominated projects include Lisabi: The Uprising, Skeleton Coast, House of Ga’a, and Freedom Way.
This win marks another major milestone in Chukwuka’s decades-long career, reinforcing her status as one of Nollywood’s most respected and consistent talents.
